How to give Claude, Cursor or VS Code an email inbox
AI agents can browse and fill in forms, then stop at “check your email”. Connecting BlinkInbox as an MCP server gives the agent tools to create an address, wait for the email and read the code or link itself.
The server address
Every client below connects to the same remote MCP endpoint: https://api.blinkinbox.club/api/mcp. Clients that support OAuth open a BlinkInbox sign-in window the first time, where you choose full or read-only access. No API key is copied anywhere.
Claude (web and desktop)
- Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it BlinkInbox and paste https://api.blinkinbox.club/api/mcp as the URL.
- Click Connect, sign in to BlinkInbox and click Allow.
Claude Code
terminal
claude mcp add --transport http blinkinbox https://api.blinkinbox.club/api/mcp
# then, inside Claude Code:
/mcp # choose blinkinbox → AuthenticateCursor and VS Code
Add the server to your MCP configuration. The editor starts the sign-in the first time the agent uses a BlinkInbox tool.
mcp.json
{
"mcpServers": {
"blinkinbox": { "url": "https://api.blinkinbox.club/api/mcp" }
}
}What to ask
- “Create a BlinkInbox address, sign up for the trial at example.com and give me the verification code.”
- “Go through sign-up on our staging site as a new user and report anything that broke.”
- “Read the welcome email our app sent and check every link.”
Keeping it safe
- Choose read-only access if the agent only needs to read mail: it then can’t create or delete inboxes.
- Email content is written by third parties. BlinkInbox labels it as untrusted in every tool result, but keep approval on for actions that matter.
- Disconnect an app at any time from Dashboard → Connected apps.
- Use BlinkInbox for accounts the agent is allowed to create, and follow the terms of the sites it signs up for.
Questions
Which tools does the agent get?
create_inbox, list_inboxes, list_messages, get_message, wait_for_email, get_verification_code and delete_inbox. Read-only connections only get the reading tools.
What if my client doesn’t support OAuth?
Send an API key from the dashboard as a header instead: Authorization: Bearer bb_live_….
